Remember Where's Waldo? You know, that fun game where you see a picture with a bajillion people in it – and somehwere in the midst is the dude with glasses and the red and white sweater? Well, sometimes I feel like Waldo. I sometimes feel lost in the crowd. I have a unique "career" position that's pretty cool. I have a unique "ministry" position too – where I work for LifeChurch.tv yet have the freedom to pour into other churches and church leaders as well. I have a uber-cool wife and three fun kiddos. But, sometimes I question my "place" in the world. I think part of it comes with wanting to make sure what I do in life is "significant" – so – I'm always looking for reinforcement at work, home and at Church. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with immaturity too. I should be confident in who I am, and who God made me – but yet – sometimes I'm not. There ya go. A little peek into my head tonight.
In other news – I'm flying to Chicago tomorrow (Monday) and have a fun few days ahead of me. Tomorrow afternoon I get to hang out with my CDW Rep – Geoff – and meet some of the team. I hope to have some technical conversations around HyperV as well. Then a good dinner – thanks CDW – and then off to meet up with the CITRT Peeps at The Chapel. I'll be crashing with the Granger folks Monday night and then am very excited to spend all day Tuesday discussing Church IT. Tuesday night is more CITRT fun and then Wednesday I fly back home.
I've been spending a lot of quality time with my Veeam install the last few weeks and am just about to roll my tests into full production. It's about time.
Anyway, that's in for my world. What kind of cool stuff are you working on?
From what I’ve observed, I’d say that you’re making a significant contribution to the gospel by helping others leverage technology. Your team is setting the standards for church online.
Thanks for being willing to “pour” some of that experience into our discussions.
Have a fruitful trip. Look forward to further dialogue.
PS: I do remember Waldo. The key was knowing all the details about him, thinking out side the box and perseverance. My kids loved beating me.
